Full professor in Sociology of cultural and communicative processes, director of CIRMiB (Centre of Initiatives and research on Migration, Brescia) at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC). Her main areas of interest are education, training and socialization processes and supply, education systems, impacts of migration in schooling, social changes in teachers' role; cultural innovation and interculturalism. Member of the managing board of other research structures and Post graduation Courses at the UCSC; since 2011 member of Scientific Board by ESA /European sociological association, RN 10 – Research network “Sociology of education”; co-director of the Book serie "IES - INNOVATION, EDUCATION AND SOCIETY" by the Publisher FrancoAngeli, Milano. • Lingue e letterature europee ed extraeuropee

  L’idea eurocentrica di ‘centro’ e ‘periferia’ è da tempo oggetto di revisione storica e culturale . Il mito della centralità è relativamente nuovo nella storia dell’Occidente, manifestandosi in maniera fortemente oppositiva a partire dalle imprese coloniali del XVI secolo. In questa prospettiva, aree di ricerca privilegiate sono i Caraibi, l’America del Nord, l’India, il Sud-Africa e l’Australia, e il testo di riferimento è La tempesta di Shakespeare, che per primo pone in modo dialettico la questione del rapporto con l’’altro’. È dalla “ periferia del mondo ” che ci sono giunte esperienze che hanno profondamente influenzato le concezioni della giustizia “occidentale”, a partire dal concetto di giustizia “riparativa”, introdotto nella cultura giuridica occidentale a partire da esperienze proprie delle culture dei nativi americani. In analogia con la prospettiva indicata in 1 C, verranno indagate la recezione e reinterpretazione di tradizioni letterarie europee in ambito angloamericano e, reciprocamente, le trasformazioni subite dalla produzione letteraria europea a seguito dell’incontro con culture letterarie e linguistiche extraeuropee . La storia degli ordinamenti occidentali ha messo ripetutamente in luce il problematico equilibrio tra le tradizioni giuridiche e culturali di coloro che, seguendo i flussi migratori, si spostano dalla ‘periferia’ del mondo e quelle proprie dei Paesi che costituiscono il ‘centro’.   Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) Founded in Milan in 1921 by Father Agostino Gemelli, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is Europe’s most important Catholic university. Congregation for Catholic Education The remote origin of this Congregation of the Apostolic See, in fact, goes back to the special commissions set up by the Roman Pontiffs for the supervision of the Universities of Rome and studies in the territory of the Papal States. It was Leo XII, with the Apostolic Constitution Quod Divina Sapientia of 28th August 1824, who established the new Congregatio Studiorum for the Universities and all public and private schools of the Papal States. With the Apostolic Constitution Sapienti Consilio of 29th June 1908, St. Pius X confirmed the competence of the Congregation Studiorum for Universities. An important reform was accomplished later by Pope Benedict XV, who, by the Motu Proprio Seminaria Clericorum of 4th November 1915, united the Office for Seminaries, existing at the constitutional Congregation, and the Congregatio Studiorum, so establishing the Congregatio de Seminariis et de Studiorum Universitatibus. On 16th January of 2013, with the Motu proprio Ministorum Institutio, Pope Benedict XVI modified the Apostolic Constitution Pastor Bonus, and the jurisdiction over Seminaries which had been held by the Congregation was transferred to the Congregation for the Clergy. In addition, according to the above-mentioned document, the name of the Dicastery was also changed from Congregatio de Institutione Catholica (de Seminariis atque Studiorum Institutis)"to Congregatio de Institutione Catholica (de Studiorum Institutis).
