The Crisis of Eurocentrism
The Crisis of Eurocentrism and the Future of the European Humanism: Historical, Cultural, Religious, Legal and Socio-Economic Perspectives
Coordinator: Prof. Gian Luca Potestà
Developed in the European continent starting from the Mediterranean area, the “Western” experience spread gradually and varyingly to the rest of the World. The colonization process has resulted in enduring consequences in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, where European cultures were often imposed to local cultures and customs.
By the same token, the Western experience shaped the (North and South) American culture, its Weltanschauung and its political, economic and financial organizations. European institutions and European spirit’s outcomes still raise a strong interest all over the world today.
