Postgraduate Course in Traffic Psychology

ASAG organizes the unique Post Graduate Course in Traffic Psychology in Italy that provides the theoretical and practical skills on specific interventions in Traffic Psychology in different sectors, promoting dialogue and multidisciplinary collaboration with other professional figures working for safety (reconstruction technicians, engineers, doctors, law enforcement, driving school instructors, trainers of all levels).

The Course is aimed at Psychology graduates or graduates in other disciplines, as long as they are enrolled in the Albo degli Psicologi (Register of Psychologists).

There are three modules of the course open to other professionals working in the field of road safety (driving school instructors, trainers of all orders and degrees, mobility managers, engineers, urban planners, doctors, law enforcement, reconstruction technicians).


The course, with a total duration of 144 hours, will be held in attendancefrom October 2022 to November 2023 at the Milan campus of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.

Meetings will be held on Fridays, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., in some cases all day, starting at 9 a.m., and all day Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a lunch break from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. In case of seminar or conference events included in the course, exceptionally, the lectures could also be held on other days. Attendance, in order to obtain the final certificate, is mandatory for at least 75 percent of the total number of hours. For the purpose of obtaining the advanced diploma, it is necessary for participants to produce a paper on one of the topics covered in the educational pathway.

Methodology

Each topic will be covered from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Teaching activities will be conducted in the classroom according to lecture and exercise formats (viewing of films, simulations, discussion of cases, group work).
Each participant will receive teaching materials. An online platform will be used to support distance learning. A classroom tutor will be present throughout the course and will manage the online platform.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE
It is also planned as a qualifying part of the course, in addition to the classroom hours, a supervised practical experience (lasting 20 hours) at some institutions, in order to apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom in the field. Among the host institutions:
